After Baba Ramdev, VHP said will create Army to fight against Inter-Religious marriage and Cow Smuggling

While Baba Ramdev claims his ‘Army’ will help tackle fear and insecurity among common citizens, VHP announced to fight against ‘Love Jihad’ ( Inter-Religious relationship / marriage) and Cow smuggling.

Amid growing intolerance and violence due to Hindutva fringes groups across the nation, Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP)  an Hindu Hardliners organisation has announced to recruit 5,000 ‘religious soldiers’ in Uttar Pradesh who will fight like commandos.

They will be selected from among trained Bajrang Dal activists and will be responsible for controlling cow smuggling and love jihad. The enrolment drive will be launched in September reported Hindustan Times.

The decision was announced at a VHP meeting held in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh  on July 14-16, in which the outfit’s international president Pravin Togadia was also present.

“Five thousand religious soldiers will be recruited in Aligarh district for which only those Bajrang Dal activists will be eligible who have completed bravery training. These soldiers will control cow smuggling and love jihad. They will also protect Hindu boys and girls, maths, temples, sant samaj and the country.” Sectional chief Ram Kumar Arya, reported Hindustan Times.

Earlier last week, Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev announced to start a private security guard business. Unlike VHP’s ‘Religious Army’ which they said will focus on Cow Protection and Inter-religious marriages, Ramdev’s army will fully trained in using arms and scriptures — ‘Shastra and Shstra’ and Yoga.

Our security guards will be different from others because they will be trained in arms and scriptures [shastra and shstra] and will be mentally, physically and spiritually stronger than others,” Patanjali Ayurved Ltd and Patanjali Yogpeeth spokesman S K Tijarawala reported News18.

Mr Tijarawala claims the security guards who will get training from Ex-Army men will be the best among all. The intention to create the army is to tackle growing fear and insecurity among common citizens.

“Apne aas paas dekhiye kitna dar ka mahaul hai [Look around you, how fearful seems the world],” Tijarawala says.

“Since the devolution of joint families into nuclear families a sense of security has been lost generally in societies. People are more scared than ever and this is why a lot of attacks are also happening. A lot of important people used to come to meet Babaji [Ramdev] with their own security guards but they bemoaned the lack of sense of security in the society. That’s when he decided to serve the nation in this capacity also.” he added.

It will be interesting to witness if Baba Ramdev’s army going to tackle VHP’s religious army whose activists are infamous for several violent incidents.
