Mumbai : Bollywood actors go according to their own whims. They act in films based on patriotic messages. There was a time when a big actor of Bollywood used to be called NRI but now this trend has widened with whatever benefits involved in it. There are a good many numbers of actors who are either holding dual citizenship or possessing citizenship of another country.
Akshay Kumar, Alia Bhatt, Imran Khan and Deepika Padukone are prominent among them. It is being said that Akshay Kumar is Manoj Kumar of the present time. He performs in movies brimming with patriotic contents but said to be lacking Indian citizenship.
When he is not holding country’s citizenship, he is not responsible for participating in the biggest festival of the voting. According to Section 9 of the Citizenship Act, 1955 he is not an Indian citizen, as reports a very popular Lallantop portal.
Indeed it is a significant matter for Akshay Kumar. One is obviously free to make a suggestion to anyone that has nothing to do with another’s profession. At this juncture, his Facebook Live is working wonders as it is devoted entirely to country’s soldiers. Akshay is not faltering in his duties like paying taxes. But his critics point out that it is not an instance of his greatness. He gains by acting patriotic roles so there arises no problem in his maintain another country’s citizenship.
Alia Bhatt is a British national. Deepika Padukone is a citizen of Denmark. Imran Khan is an American.By this mark, Akshay cannot vote in his country where he was born. Have you ever seen him casting his vote? When he was busy in shooting his film Rustum he was detained for some reason at Heathrow airport. It was possible because of the anomaly in his documents. At that turbulent time, it came to be known to one and all that he holds Canadian citizenship. Therefore he is considered a national of that country officially. It may also be said that he possessed a dual citizenship of both the countries viz., India and Canada. But there exists a rule in India if anyone possesses other country’s citizenship; he is not eligible to vote.
His flicks like Baby, Rustum and Airlift are brimming with a patriotic subject matter. The latest one Jolly LL B 2 is one more addition in that category. If the first one was a good pun on the judicial system of our country, the fresh film is ready to present remedial measures and heightening the country’s prestige. The hero Akshay Kumar looks like a revolutionary. He does not look like a paan-chewing advocate of Lucknow. No doubt, this thing has goaded Sunil Shetty and Ajay Devgan for admiring him intensely.
