Goa : Exactly a month ago Central minister Manohar Parrikar said ‘Goa to be India’s first cashless society‘ while addressing a BJP’s ‘Vijay Sankulp’ rally at Sankhalim village, 45-km from in Panaji.
Just after a month, Parrikar said to a reporter in Goa that its not possible to make Goa cashless. While reffering to the government policy he said, ‘Govt policy is to make cashless society, Its not possible to make Goa state cashless. Its not in our plan also, currently our plan is to make 50% of Goa transaction cashless’ .

While talking to media, Parrikar said currently 15-20 % of transaction in Goa is happening cashless we are planing to make this to 50%. He also said government is facing few problem in making Goa as cashless state and we are working on that. On 25th of November Parrikar has said ‘Goa to be India’s first cashless society‘ while addressing a BJP’s ‘Vijay Sankulp’ rally at Sankhalim village, 45-km from in Panaji. Immediately when state commercial department issued a notice to implement cashless in 10 days , many business man started opposing and protesting. by looking at anger in people’s eye and upcoming election in Goa government has pulled their leg back and BJP government asked their officials to take back the order.
When reporter asked why government took back their orders, Parrikar said “It was not necessary”, to promote cashless in Goa there are 26000 government official working. Nearly 600 and above POS terminals has been installed, more than 2700 vendors are accepting money through UPI apps.
This is not first time Parrikar in controversy, on 19th Dec he said due to PM Modi’s demonetisation many leaders in country has become beggar. Saturday while addressing a BJP rally in Ponda he said,’ few leaders has made looting peoples money as business’. And due to this many leaders has become beggars. He also said one leader has suffered heart attack after listening Modi’s demonetisation news, later he clarified that heart attack was not due to demonetisation.
