Meerut, Uttar Pradesh : BJP’s hardliner and controversial leader Sangeet Som who is accused in inciting deadly Muzaffarnagar riots in 2013 sparks a new controversy which defied Election Commission rules of using religion during election campaign 2017.

According to reports, Som who will be contesting for BJP from Sardhana, Meerut using promotional vehicles with LED Screens which are playing Muzaffarnagar riots reports, his arrests, Dadri lynching reports, his stand against Akhlaq and support for arrested youths who are accused in murder, Hindus exodus from Kirana and other controversial reports to present him as hero.

After watching these controversial promos, the residents of his own constituency went to authorities and reported the matter. People of Fareedpur village condemned this communal hatred politics, police immediately took action by seizing the video copies and reported the matter to District Magistrate Rakesh Kumar Singh.
