According to reports, he has been removed from Hospital duties for allegedly running a private hospital. Dr. Bhupendra Sharma has been appointed as new Nodal Officer for the Department of Pediatrics of Baba Raghav Das Medical College, Gorakhpur reported ANI.

Eye witnesses at the hospital said, if it was not Dr Kafeel present at the hospital, many children would have lost their lives.

Dr. Kafeel kept on fighting every front from making rounds to the ward or to attend patients whose heart rate was diminishing. He was struggling to get more oxygen cylinders.

“While others doctors gave up hope, Dr Khan managed the situation well by arranging oxygen cylinders from private nursing homes. He saved many lives by his efforts and presence of mind,” said Gaurav Tripathi, an eyewitness.

UP Medical Education Minister Ashutosh Tandon said Baba Raghav Das Medical College hospital principal Rajiv Mishra was suspended for his “irresponsible act” of allegedly delaying payment to the supplier of oxygen cylinders.
