The son of a senior BJP leader has been summoned by the Vigilance Bureau in the multi-crore Hoshiarpur land scam. Jived Sud, son of former Local Bodies, Industry and Commerce minister Tikshan Sud, has been asked to appear at the VB office for ongoing investigation in Hoshiarpur land scam.
Jived and his partner Akhil Sud have been asked to appear before the authority regarding the transactions worth of Rs 2.5 crore.
“Another suspect, Anju Gupta, has been told to appear tomorrow. She had received Rs 4.5 crore for land acquisition.” Vigilance SSP Sareen Kumar said.
“We will see that where that money was used by those who got it,” added the SSP.
Earlier, one of the main accused, Prateek Gupta, had been detained by the officials at Indira Gandhi International Airport, New Delhi, on July 3 when he was trying board off to abroad. He is accused to make more than Rs 15 crore in lieu of land acquisition for four-laning of the National Highway. He, then, transferred the same to various accounts including those of his father’s firms. Later Rs 1.75 crore and Rs 75 lakh were credited to SS Engineering by him.
RTI activist Rajeev Vashisht, who exposed the scam, said account was opened and closed in just 24 days after the purpose was met.
“Prateek opened an account with a bank in Hoshiarpur and the whole amount received against land acquisition was credited into it. The account remained operational for only 24 days.”
