Kairana bypolls : Jats allow fasting Muslims to vote first

During the Kirana bypolls people witnessed special bonding between Jats and Muslims when the Jats voluntarily let the fasting Muslims to cast their votes before them .

Jats and Muslims who lived in a friendly environment for years in Kirana fell apart after the Muzzafarnagar riots in 2013 after which they maintained distance from each other .But the bypolls served as a means to bridge the gap ,when fasting Muslims in the scorching heat came to vote they noticed long queues but where pleasantly surprised when Jats let them vote first .Chaudry Rajendra Singh along with his family was waiting in the line to cast his vote but when he saw 55year old Basheer he welcomed him to take his place saying “you are fasting ,don’t stand in the line for long .We can cast out votes later too” .

Even the Jat ladies told the Muslim women to take their place and cast their votes before them .Incidentally the relationship between the two communities was cordial before the riots and with the help of their combined votes Chaudry Ajit Singh had won the Kirana seat many times but after the riots the enemies between the communities continued for years with both communities maintaining distance from each other .

Looks like people are ready to give up on hate ,live in peace and harmony again .The bypolls served as a means to break the barriers and bring the two communities closer . RLD has filed Tabassum Hasan as their candidate and BJP has filed it’s leader Hukum Singh ‘s daughter Mringaka Singh as the candidate .Whayever be the results of the bypolls the changing relationship between the communities is a positive take and ray of hope .
