They said that there were prima facie lapses by officer-in-charge of Narayanpura police station, Sub-Inspector Harish Pathak as he did not check about his medical condition. He has now been suspended.

An FIR has been filed against him.

Two days after being arrested Ansari’s father came to know he had been shifted to Dhanbad for treatment after he suffered injuries from police brutality.

“There was a scuffle at the police station between Ansari’s parents and the officer-in-charge, Harish Pathak. Ansari’s family filed a written complaint against Pathak, following which an FIR of attempt to murder and outraging the modesty of a woman was registered against him,” Jamtara Deputy Commissioner Ramesh Kumar Dubey said.

Ansari died two days after being shifted to RIMS. An joint inquiry will be carried out over by the Sub Divisional Officer and Sub Divisional Police Officer.
