NEW DELHI: RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav today slammed Nitish Kumar after he left ‘Maha-Gatbhandan‘ alliance to join the rivals BJP, Lalu accused Nitish kumar as an opportunist and has insulted Bihar’s mandate.
“I treated him like a younger brother, but Nitish cheated me,” Lalu said. Lalu also alleged that Nitish was behind CBI raids on his family which took RJD with storm.
He also said the whole series of events of Nitish’s resignation and oath taking today as a ‘fixed match’, Lalu said it’s a conspiracy of BJP and JD(U).
Attacking Nitish on his earlier anti-communal plank, Lalu said: “Nitish had said he will die but won’t join hands with communal forces. But has has now joined BJP to form government because he is greedy of power.”
“He betrayed me because he was jealous of popularity of Tejashwi Yadav,” Lalu added.
Secretary General of CPI-M Sitaram Yechuri also hit on the newly formed alliance between JD (U) and BJP. He questioned Nitish Kumar how it can be considered a fight against corruption while BJP itself is tainted with several corruption charges.
Oh really. Vyapam, Sahara-Birla diary, GSPC, Lalit Modi, Rice scam, waiving NPAs & NO Lokpal, that's your commitment to fighting corruption. https://t.co/eP6c8k5Wj3

Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi also slammed Nitish Kumar for knotting alliance with BJP. Rahul said Congress was aware of Nitish’s moves from past three-four months.
“We were aware of what was going on from last three-four months. This is the problem with Indian politics. For the sake of power and personal gains, they compromise with anything,” Rahul said.
