New Delhi : Arnab Goswami, former Times Now’s Editor-in-chief and host of a controversial famous debate show ‘The Newshour’ is believed to launch his new venture called ‘Republic’.
The channel is speculated to be launched before the most important upcoming polls, U. P. Election early next year.
This announcement came hours after Rahul Shivshankar of NewsX took charge at Times Now as his successor, Arnab resigned from Times Now on 1st November 2016.
The website quoted the former TimesNow editor-in-chief as saying, “I seek the support of the people of India”, but said Goswami did not provide any other information about the project. All other details about it remain unclear, though there is speculation that it will be based out of Mumbai and funded by Indian investors.
The Judge, Jury and Executioner
Arnab Goswami caught into controversies after actively supporting Pro-Govt editorial contents, constantly promoting hyper-nationalism which targeted many senior journalists of other news channels unnecessary.
Arnab Goswami is infamous for his judgemental nature during debate hours, many participants and panelists had left his shows mid-way for his aggressive and stubborn behaviour.
Even though he managed to create massive TRP for Times Now prime-time hours, the way he used Machiavellian politics wasn’t welcomed by everyone, obviously except those who benefited from it.
