Kashmir : In compliant to Jammu and Kashmir police, Dr Bilal said two persons entered his house at evening of Sunday when he was out of station to attend a conference and extorted money from the inmates after posing as Hizb militants.
J&K Police booked four persons last week, including two Army men, for extorting money from a family in this South Kashmir district after posing as Hizbul militants. Bilal family said, two gun men took hostage of family and they extorted Rs 32,000 from them when Bilal was absent from home.
“I was in Delhi when the incident took place. My sister and her husband were at my place and they were in deep shock,” Dr Beigh said.
According to police report, an FIR (303-2015) under sections 34, 386 and 452 of the Ranbir Penal Code was registered against the accused after an extortion complaint by Dr Bila Beigh from the Khrewan Malpora area.
“We have arrested four persons, including the two local Armymen. We have recovered a toy gun, a van and Rs 23,000 from their possession, two accused “Muhammad Yusuf Teli and Muhammad Rafiq Khanday who are locals also serving as soldiers. We have arrested both of them and a case of extortion has been registered”, said Superintendent of Police.
According to Indian Express, the Armymen were arrested after the doctor’s sister, who is also a doctor, identified one of the gang members at the hospital where she works. When asked Superintendent of Police Kulgam Mumtaz Ahmad told reporter that, “Yes, we have arrested them (the two Armymen) after complain.
Police have identified the four as Muzaffar Ahmad, Nissar Ahmad and Armymen Mohammad Yousuf and Mohammad Rafiq. All of them are from Qazigund.
A defence spokesperson, however, said that the arrested Armymen “were on leave”
