The stone pelting incident which took place during kanwariya procession in Khailam village was allegedly instigated by the local BJP leader Ganga Singh, mandal president from Girdharpur village and now he is been booked under inciting that violence which led to stone pelting.
Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh: BJP District President Ravindra Rathore would be visiting the village on Tuesday and would look after the complaints lodged on BJP workers.
“Sources claimed that the tension in Khailam village worsened after Ganga Singh and his helpers threw their pressure on from behind on kanwariyas and led a road blockade and protest in the afternoon of Friday and the violence occurred hours later.”
Times of India reported that a local resident from Aonla tehsil told “Even before the stone-pelting incident could settle down, Singh and his supporters assaulted men from the other community on Saturday to avenge the stone pelting,” .
The case has also been lodged against Singh and other four helpers, a senior police official said to TOI and also added that “We have registered a case of attempt to murder. Three people have already been arrested while Singh is still absconding. Raids are on to nab him and others.”
