In yet another incident related to Anti-Romeo Squad which has come into controversy after harassing couples with moral policing, UP police are in trouble after they arrested an sibling in Deoria district yesterday. According to reports, both tried to convince squad that they are siblings but police were not ready to accept until their parents reached the station.

Both were immediately released afterwards with an apology, Circle Office of the city Dr Ajay Kumar Singh has given strict order to Anti-Romeo squad to verify before arresting any couple.

Earlier three persons — two men and a woman — were detained in Navyug Market area of Ghaziabad, three policemen involved in the case were suspended for bringing them to the police station without any woman police personnel.

The government realises that very soon this moral policing or vigilantism has the potential to embarrass the government in a big way and that is the reason why it was at pains to dispel any doubt about their real intentions.

Cow Vigilantes emboldened

Three mutton shops were vandalised and burnt by unidentified mob on 22nd March night in Hathras town of Uttar Pradesh. The vandalised shops which are located at Jalesar road falling under Hathras Kotwali police station, are owned by Muslim community.

The meat shops belonged to Quraishi community which is traditionally involved in the meat trade.

When asked about three meat shops being torched in Hathras, Siddharth Nath Singh said nobody will be allowed to take law in their own hands and we will definitely look into it. He also added that no illegal slaughterhouse will be allowed.

However the government also made it clear to the government employees that they should adhere to the timings which can increase efficiency of the government. The new ministers also said that the government is mulling over installation of bio-metrics and CCTV cameras to catch erring workers.

Do you think UP government was unaware of such outcomes or they purportedly used it to distract attention from real Manifesto of Farmers loan waive off , Laptops etc?
