Uttar Pradesh: Delhi based train mowed down cattle herd killing 11 cows


Uttar Pradesh: In an unfortunate and disheartening incident in Mathura  district, at 2.30 AM a Delhi bound train between Chata and kosi kalan railway station on thursday and friday night mowed down herd of 11 cattle. Even though railway had installed barbed wire and constructed wall along the railway track for safe journey of trains like Gatiman Express.


In Agra, this was the second major cattle casualty on tracks this year and due to the accident, Malwa super fast express was delayed by half an hour.

Sanchit Tyagi, Divisional commercial manager of Agra division says that,” No major damage was reported from the accident. The cattle were removed from the track and later cremated by local authorities.”

On Delhi- Kanpur route also earlier a accident took place on february 14 and 18 oxes were killed in shikohabad and kaurara stretch under getting under the Kaifiyat express. While on June 2015, 14 nilgais were mowed down by a speeding Kasganj-Farrukhabad passenger train near Kampil jungle, about 148 km from Agra.

On friday at 2 pm, group of Mumbai based inter-college students engaged in scuffle and fist fight with Hathras youths who were traveling together from Amritsar in Golden Temple Express. According to GRP SHO, Mathura, Gaurav Saxena, the students fought over mobile charging point. “As soon the train reached Mathura, a group of six Mumbai students attacked the two youths of Hathras, after which train was delayed for an hour. The youths were booked under CrPc 151 and presented to railway magistrate. Later all were released on personal bail bonds.”
