Uttar Pradesh: On Republic Day, Kasaganj witnessed violence and some sections in the media spread blatant lies blaming Muslims for the tension but a CCTV footage released has busted those lies. The video clearly shows that the local Muslims were preparing to celeberate Republic Day function, chairs were arranged, a group reportedly VHP-ABVP activists who took out ‘Tiranaga Yatra’ later entered the lane to disrupt the celeberations.
The video shows that the lane was decorated with tricolour ballons, children running around with excitement and the efforts to disrupt the function has left them perplexed. It is sad that without any evidence some in the media relentlessly tried to pin the blame on Muslims who were only preparing to celrberate the Republic Day.

Journalists like Rohith Sardana claimed that Pro-Pakistan slogans were raised, which later was proved untrue. The new CCTV footage has exposed these journalists who constantly attack a particular community and demonise them regularly through their shows.
Meanwhile, Kasganj SP Piyush Srivastava had sensationally alleged that a journalist working ANI had indulged in fake reporting by allegedly coercing the father of the murdered youth to say he was facing threats to his life. Bareilly’s DM on his FB Page had condemned against chanting of controversial slogans in Muslim areas and now Saharanpur Officer Rashme Varun on her facebook page has also claimed that ‘people carrying saffron flag’ have killed (indirectly responsible) Chandan Gupta.
UP police on Wednesday arrested Saleem Javed, for the murder of Abhishek Gupta aka Chandan during a clash on Republic Day. Gupta’s death sparked sporadic violence with mobs burning shops and vehicles belonging to one community after funeral procession. Police have arrested more than 150 people over the violence. Police are also reviewing more than 500 video clips of the communal clashes to identify people with sticks and firearms.
A section of media had blamed the Muslim community without any evidence, if not for the CCTV video the lies would have been used to further incite communal violence.
